Logos Testnet v0.3 release

In September, Logos Testnet v0.3 was released, with improvements reaching almost every part of the stack, from how new participants join the network to how files and messages move between peers.

With EmPoWering live, participants can now get testnet tokens by performing computational work rather than requesting them centrally from a faucet. Logos Storage now allows downloads over Mix, and Basecamp added Windows support while also getting early versions of Ethereum and Monero wallets.

Other additions in Testnet v0.3 include Logos SQL, a distributed SQL database run over a blockchain channel, and Channel Notes, which allows tokens bridged on the base layer to be staked by a zone’s sequencers.

Local-first full-stack privacy

The Logos stack is engineered for truly private finance (PriFi). PriFi is a system design philosophy that aims to secure the entire transaction lifecycle – the steps involved in making any deal, transfer, or exchange that occur before and after settlement. Blockchain secures settlement uniquely well, but absolute transparency onchain introduces leaks at other links in the cycle.

Capital risks and the costs of protecting against them pose a barrier to entry for many market participants. PriFi infrastructure is engineered to disclose information only to necessary parties and shield by default. It runs P2P on users’ computers to minimise reliance on vulnerable proprietary hardware, while employing mechanisms to provide maximum privacy across the stack. By reducing costs and risks across the lifecycle, PriFi provides greater confidentiality and thus security than was previously attainable only by a wealthy few.

Local Area Network launches

September saw the relaunch of the ever-popular Logos zine. Local Area Network is a monthly snapshot of the movement as it flourishes. The first issue brings together tech updates, parallel organising news, Logos Circle win spotlights, a Monero thoughtpiece, and much more.

Local Area Network celebrates those who are building or acting on Logos, spotlighting wins to inspire and fork for use across the network. It is built collectively as an archive of all our successes and learnings.

Past becomes Present: Michael and Amanda’s stories

Past. Present. Future. is an initiative highlighting why infrastructure like Logos has never been more important and, if historic trends are anything to go by, is going to get a lot more important.

In Past, we went to the Museum of Civil Liberties, an Arctic archive of major events that resulted in encroachment of personal freedoms. In Present, we follow three very different stories: Michael, Amanda, and a still-unrevealed character. As the player takes each character’s major decisions, three very symptoms of a society in rapid decline emerge.

Michael’s story is about debt and how it restricts our choices. We join as he considers whether to borrow money to go to university or go straight into employment. Amanda’s story revolves around social media harms and how her health declines as her data is used against her.

Building the parallel with Ethereum Philippines

Last month, Ethereum Philippines teamed up with Logos for a hands-on technical workshop, “Building the Parallel”, led by Alisher. The session introduced attendees to the Logos stack, the design process behind it, and practical ways to start building on Logos.

Those watching learned how to run a Logos node, install Basecamp, and support the tech’s development through opportunities like RFPs and λPrizes.

Logos is supporting the launch of Freequences in Lisbon on 7 October. The three-month programme of gatherings brings artists, performers, technologists, and collectives together to share skills, collaborate, and build stronger connections across the local scene.

Freequencies is developing shared tools for coordination, archiving, communication, and event organisation on the Logos stack. The aim is to create infrastructure that Freequencies can use itself, while also enabling other cultural collectives to adopt, adapt, and self-host similar tools without relying on proprietary hardware controlled by Big Tech platforms.

Field Station / Rajasthan

fieldstation-logos-sept-update.png

Field Station / Rajasthan opened applications in September and will bring together 30 residents for an eight-day builder-and-activist residency at Dhun, Rajasthan, from 23–31 October. Created as a collaborative effort by Logos and Zu-Grama, the programme invites developers, researchers, founders, and activists to cohabit while building and experimenting with social coordination on decentralised infrastructure.

Residents will work across two tracks: the Logos sovereignty and privacy stack, and Zu-Grama’s d/acc track, spanning AI, neurotech and bio-resilience. The residency is designed around practical outcomes, with participants running infrastructure, building prototypes, and tackling real civic challenges, including privacy-preserving mutual aid and local reporting.

The programme will culminate in a summit and showcase on 31 October, where residents will share what they built during the week. Applications are open to both technical and non-technical participants interested in contributing to a hands-on experiment in building more resilient, local-first communities.

Dark Prague

From 2–4 October, Logos attended Dark Prague, bringing a three-day programme built around privacy, parallel infrastructure, and hands-on participation. Rather than treating it as a conventional conference, Logos created a working space where attendees could install Basecamp, spin up nodes, troubleshoot technical issues, explore PriFi, and contribute directly to the stack.

The programme combined technical workshops with Logos Circles, talks, and discussions on parallel organising, privacy infrastructure, and community-led alternatives to centralised systems. Attendees were encouraged not just to learn about the ideas behind Logos, but to leave having done something practical: running infrastructure, contributing to development, joining a Circle, or helping to start a new one.

Jarrad Hope, Logos cofounder, also presented “Vaults of Glass”, in which he explored blockchain as an incomplete institutional breakthrough. Blockchain is uniquely strong on settlement but weak at protecting the six other links in a transaction’s lifecycle. The Logos stack is engineered specifically to secure it all.

Rounding the event off on Saturday evening was the Logos LAN Party with local dev collective Bordel. Running alongside the main Dark Prague rave, it combined hacking, music, conversation, and cryptoanarchist culture.

Logos Circles

September highlights

Logos Circles are open, community-led groups that bring people together around local challenges. They develop practical, grassroots responses, connect their work with the wider movement, and draw on Logos technologies where they can meaningfully support their collective actions.

Logos Circle / Gombe expands access to preventative health care

On 20 September, Logos Circle / Gombe held a genotype awareness and free testing initiative at ECWA Urshalima Bagadaza in Gombe State. The Circle worked with four medical scientists and seven community volunteers to provide health education on genotype compatibility and sickle cell disease, while collecting 49 specimens from community members for genotype testing.

The outreach was designed to make preventive health information and basic testing more accessible, particularly for young people who may not know their genotype status. It also marked the first phase of a broader community health initiative, with Logos Circle / Gombe planning to expand similar practical, community-led interventions to other communities across the state.

Logos Circle / Mumbai cleans up Kharghar Hills

On 27 September, Logos Circle Mumbai turned a problem identified at its first gathering into its first winnable issue: a trail cleanup in Kharghar Hills, Navi Mumbai. Seven members spent the morning clearing plastic bottles, glass, wrappers, cans, and other waste from the trail, ultimately removing more than 30 bags of rubbish from one of the city’s most heavily used green spaces.

The cleanup also drew in people beyond the Circle itself. Walkers on the trail helped carry filled bags back down, making the effort a small example of how visible local action can encourage wider participation. After the cleanup, the group met over lunch to discuss what Circle #3 could tackle next, with ideas ranging from another cleanup to initiatives around fitness and mental health.

λPrize winners

Three developers were awarded λPrizes in September. Pramadanif built a private multisig for the LEZ: members approve spending from a shared fund, and the chain records that enough of them approved, but no identifying information about them.

Timidan built DistributionX, a private airdrop distributor tool where people claim from a list without its contents going public. And Aegonmyy built an AI agent that runs on the Logos stack with its own private wallet and that spends within a limit its owner sets, asking the owner over encrypted chat before exceeding it.

λPrizes support independent developers and contributors building useful, open-source projects on the Logos stack. Participants can submit work that strengthens Logos infrastructure through reusable technical contributions and demonstrable real-world progress, with eligible submissions considered for discretionary awards.

Logos Media

Blog

The Logos Blog shares technical updates, movement news, and longer-form perspectives on parallel organising and the ideas that shape it. If you have a topic or point of view you’d like to contribute, send us a proposal.

In September, we published:

Logos Broadcast Network

logos-LBN-may26.jpg
logos-LBN-may26.jpg

Each month, the Logos Broadcast Network brings together voices from across the movement to exchange ideas, expertise, and perspectives. Programming ranges from community gatherings to technical developer streams, conversations about emerging forms of coordination, and deeper explorations of the Logos stack and related technologies.

Check the Logos Broadcast Network calendar to see upcoming streams

Ideas

Every Thursday, Logos Broadcast Network invites voices from the movement and allied organisations to share their ideas and stories. These philosophical sessions aim to introduce concepts underpinning the parallel society movement and further the conversation around reclaiming agency and upholding freedoms with decentralised, local-first technologies.

Then, on the last Thursday of each month, the Sovereignty Superspace welcomes Parallel Society coalition partners and other big names from the intersection of tech and activism to discuss approaches to parallel organising.

September streams included:

Follow Logos on X or YouTube to join these discussions every Thursday

Technical

The Logos Broadcast Network also connects developers with the wider community through a regular programme of technical streams. In September, sessions included

Follow Logos Tech on X and subscribe to the Logos YouTube channel to take part in all technical streams.

Builder Meetup

Logos Builder Meetups are bi-weekly sessions designed to help the community better understand, use, and build on Logos. Join every Friday at 12:00 UTC to speak directly with Logos engineers, ask questions, and develop a deeper understanding of the technology stack. The next one is on 9 October.

Circles

Logos Circle / Online is a weekly space for people taking on real challenges in their local communities. Each session combines practical guidance on starting a Logos Circle with insights from participants who are already organising and putting ideas into practice.

Logos Circle / Online is on Tuesdays; join us via the Logos X account or Logos YouTube channel.

Community champions

Logos is shaped by the people who choose to build, research, organise, and contribute. Whether through technical work, new ideas, community leadership, or hands-on participation, each contribution helps us progress, strengthen the network, and turn collective action into real-world wins.

These community champions went above and beyond in September:

Your work could be featured in an upcoming community spotlight. Technical and non-technical contributions are equally welcome, so share what you’re building, researching, organising, or improving on the forum or Discord.

Find a way to contribute, create something useful, and help move Logos forward. Build the parallel.

Logos builds technologies and a social movement to revitalise civil society. We need developers, designers, writers, and activists to help shape it.
